Now, tell me what you really think…

I have had a lot of fun with you this semester and I hope you have too (and maybe learned something along the way! Make sure you take a look at the Final Study Guide & Answer Key and get those notecards filled out!

Plans for 12/11

I’m home with my son today so you’ll have to enjoy the start of the LAST WEEK OF THE SEMESTER without me. Here’s what I’d like you to work on while I’m out.

Biology D & E

Finish and turn in your Snorks. Then work on your Unit 6 study guide

Chemistry G

Take the naming practice test (in the back of the room)

Biology A

I apologize because today was supposed to be your review game for your Unit 6 test, which for you is your next class. You have a copy of the Study guide so feel free to use this time to work on that and study together.

Have a happy Monday!

Plan for 11/2

Sorry for not being there today.  In the mean time here is what I want you to work on while I’m out.

Biology:

    1. Use the page number listed on your notes (puzzle pieces) to get the notes on active transport.
    2. Then, watch the YouTube video on Active Transport (below) and take any additional notes and Highlight anything you already had. If you want to download the notes page and take notes on notability it can be found by clicking this link.
    3. Then take the 10 question T/F Quiz
    4. Finally, if there is time, answer the review questions with your table mates… or “tates” as I like to call them.

As a reminder… your Unit 4 test is Next Tuesday!

New-Clear!

Today we’ll be investigating the nucleus of the atom. I’m sure you know about the traditional powers… The proton, the neutron, & the electron. But, believe it or not, there’s more to the nucleus than meets the eye… Which is a weird statement since you can’t even see the nucleus, but I digress.
You’ll need

Skim the chapter and fill in the questions with information from the chapter. I am not asking you to read the entire chapter. Instead, Find the section you need, and skim the information. Then go to the questions, fill in the info you remember, and then go back to the text to get specific answers.

Origin of Eukaryotes

3pxff (1)

Yesterday we discussed prokaryotes; their characteristics and examples. Today, we’ll examine the eukaryotic cell and its characteristics. But, before we do, lets take a moment to theorize where Eukaryotes evolved from 1.5 billion years ago.

For today’s warm up, do the “Endosymbiosis” worksheet

Key ← Use it as a resource, not to copy

Then we’ll be taking some time to learn the parts of a Eukaryotic cell. Please watch the YouTube Video or open the PPT in Keynote to complete the “Cell Part Chart” in a paper format or as a PDF.

In our next class, we’ll review the types of cells as well as this chart and the parts of a Eukaryotic cell.

9/1 & 9/5

Sorry I can’t be with you for our lab today. I’ll be leaving early Friday for Football and will be coming in late on Tuesday from an appointment.

While you’re here, you’ll be working on some water stations. You’ll have 5-6 minutes at each station to complete the activity, record the results, write a conclusion, and clean up before heading to the next station.

When you’re done, please do the “Water Review” questions on the back of the overview you got last class.

The directions are pretty straightforward but there will be sub to help if you need.

Good luck, have fun, and please don’t leave a mess!
